RSW Air Traffic Control Tower
The new Air Traffic Control Tower at RSW strengthens airfield safety, enhances operational visibility, and supports the airport’s long-term growth and modernization.
The new Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is a major modernization project designed to enhance safety, visibility, and operational efficiency. Standing 200 feet above ground to the cab roof (224 feet MSL) and rising to 214.5 feet to the tip of its lightning rod, the new tower significantly surpasses the height of the existing 135-foot facility. Engineered to withstand winds up to 170 mph, the structure rests on a robust foundation of 225 deep piles driven 110 feet into the ground. This critical upgrade reflects RSW’s long-term growth strategy, providing improved airfield visibility and supporting expanding airport operations well into the future.
